MAKING LOVE

Have you ever thought about why "Making Love" is called "Making Love"? I mean, seriously. We all know what we call Making Love is – at least on the surface. I refer to the intimate act between two people who are very attracted to each other in which they join their bodies in a (hopefully) ecstatic experience.

We also know that for many this act of Making Love is considered very sacred and to be entered into with acknowledgement that something mysterious and quite beyond our ken is taking place. But, do we know why this act is called Making Love?

The physical act we call Making Love also allows for the procreation of the species, miraculously creating bodies or containers for the appearance of new beings. But again, why would you refer to procreation as Making Love?

To answer the question, we first have to answer "What is Love"? The Messages from God through mystic Yael Powell during 35 years of daily meditation give an answer. (www.circleoflight.net)  The Messages say that Love is an actual substance of very high vibration. It is the substance from which all things are made, including us -- the Body of God, if you will. This substance infuses everything with the experience of consciousness, the awareness of self and LIFE in all its forms.

In other dimensions beyond Earth, we are told, the substance of Love is in constant movement and might appear more as a stream of Light. On Planet Earth, the movement of Love has been greatly slowed down, creating the sense of solidity or density to everything here. Thus, the life forms made of Love appear here in what we call bodies.

So what is it about this physical coming together that gives it the title, "Making Love"?  The original purpose of two beings coming together in a form of intimacy may have been just that -- making MORE Love -- as in Love, the substance of the universe, that which creates everything around us, All That Is.  Isn't it possible that when Love, true Love, deep caring, knowing that we are all connected, holding the highest good of all in consciousness... when that accompanies the physical act we call "Making Love," that more of the actual substance of Love enters the universe? When the consciousness, the feelings that accompany that act, the intentions in the hearts of the participants are truly focused on Love, then the creative energies come forth to actually make more of the substance of Love.

We have limited vocabulary in our language to describe the many possibilities and probabilities of the creation of Love. What does that tell us?

Is the sexual act that we call Making Love the only way that Love can be created in our world? Of course, not. However, it has been given great importance in our society (not always for the "right reasons") and so it behooves us to have a look and see what those words that describe it are all about.

The next time you are in any part of the process of what we on this planet call Making Love (even pondering it or feeling its lure), take time to ponder the possibility that you are truly participating far beyond the personal. Make an intention of Good for our planet, for Nature, for all humanity and also, of course, for your own Good as well. You can never tell how your Making Love might change the world!
